With that in mind, there is some variety in the intensity or challenge offered in each class. Check out these class descriptions to find the classes that are best suited for you.
Gentle Flow
Enjoy gently flowing movements designed to bring grace and ease into your body. This class is great for all levels, incorporating strengthening pre-yoga techniques, flowing movements matched to the breath, and nourishing twists and floor poses to leave you feeling refreshed and at peace.
Intermediate/Advanced Yoga
This Ashtanga inspired class flows through the 26 postures with strength and grace. Sanskrit names, ancient philosphy, and a skillful flowing practice are combined to offer the perfect way to transition from the workday into the evening. Enjoy a simple, traditional practice, great for experienced yogis, and those looking to move to the next level.
Karma Yoga
Because of our commitment to building our community, we are offering a donation based class to make classes affordable to everyone, while raising funds for a local charity. Students will choose the non-profit to donate to each week. This will be a foundational class appropriate for all skill levels. Suggested donation $5; Passes may not be used for this class.
Kundalini
Kundalini Yoga is considered the most comprehensive of yoga traditions, combining meditation, mantra, physical exercises (Kriyas) and breathing techniques. Brought to the West by Yogi Bhajan, it is a Raj or royal yoga, encompassing the eight limbs of yoga into a singular practice of excellence and ecstasy. Experience energy shifts, chakra tuning, love and beauty in every class.
Mindful Yoga
This class begins to plant the seeds of mindfulness as you are guided through meditation, standing postures, folds and twists. Awareness of the breath inspires a mindful approach to the practice. Savasana offers a space to move towards stillness. Once the seeds of mindfulness are planted, it’s simply a matter of time before they begin to take root, grow and inspire you.
Movement & Strength
Movement and Strength will focus on a long, smooth, rhythmic exploration of movement. The kind of movement that brings a sly smile.
This is full body movement with a focus on the core. We will pull inspiration from Yoga, Tai Chi, dance, body weight and common everyday movements. If you're ready to explore the edges of movement and bring some new rhythm into your life, check this class out.
Relax & Restore
End the night with a gently guided journey into the body and mind. Find yourself releasing old patterns of tension and movement, finding grace and ease. Let go of your troubles and enjoy some bliss before bedtime.
Relax Into It
We inhabit such a fast paced world. No wonder it is difficult to completely relax into a place of calm and stillness. When we create space to let go and give ourselves permission to relax, profound ease and inspiration often are revealed. This gentle class provides a space to relax and inquire as you explore grounding standing poses, seated forward folds, gentle twists, and reclining poses. A restorative shoulderstand or legs up the wall and a restful savasana wrap up the hour and help prepare both body and mind for a restful evening.
Return to Goddess
Explore yoga, meditation, and energy-shifting mantra in this class focusing on awareness of male/female energy. In today’s world, women have followed a male blueprint for success, harnessing their often depleted minority (male) energy in the pursuit of career, relationships and lifestyle, and letting their female energy lie dormant and unfulfilled. In this class, we’ll reconnect to the beauty and aliveness of this multi-faceted, robust energy that is female essence.
*Please note, this class is NOT exclusive to women. In a world where Men are largely disconnected from their feminine energy, this class can benefit all.
Peace, Power & Possibility
Explore peace, power & possibility conceptually and experientially in this new class designed to wake up your inner magnificence. Shine your light from your mat into the world, and focus on moving and thinking in a way that is supportive and nurturing to your soul. Release old patterns of energy and action, and create a new way of being, on and off the mat. All levels welcome!
Vinyasa Flow
Vinyasa means "movement with breath". This class will emphasize finding the fullness of your breath, while gracefully moving from one posture to the next. Expect a slightly more upbeat pace, with the same therapeutic and nurturing approach you find in all of our classes. This is a great class for people who want to get moving!
Yin
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with asanas that are held for longer periods of time—five minutes or longer per pose is typical. Yin Yoga poses apply gentle pressure to the connective tissues—the tendons, fascia, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. Yin Yoga poses are also designed to improve the flow of qi, the subtle energy said in Chinese medicine to run through the meridian pathways of the body. Improved flow of qi is hypothesized to improve organ health, immunity, and emotional well-being.
Yoga for the Soul
Connect to your inner purpose and find your authentic expression through your yoga practice. You will learn how to take your yoga practice off the mat into the world.
Students will explore a different topic each week to develop an understanding of yogic philosophies. Working through more than just the physical postures, students will be introduced to the eight limbed path of yoga, and ways to practice yoga beyond the asanas.
Yoga Foundations
This class introduces you to strength building pre-yoga exercises, standing poses, simple backbends, calming folds and relaxing twists, all which create the basis of a nourishing yoga practice. Add breath awareness to invite an inward focus and you have the foundational aspects of a practice that benefits both body and mind.
Zen Meditation Community
Meditation is the heart of Zen practice. By sitting quietly and attending to the body, breath, and mind our limiting mental habits and preconceived notions of how things should be begin to drop away. What is left is a clear awareness of how things really are. It’s that simple.
