Sheryl Lilke, RYT500
I like to teach the kind of yoga I practice every day—a simple and gentle alignment-based hatha yoga that soothes the nervous system, creates ease and opening in the body, and quiets the mind.
In my classes you'll enjoy guided mindfulness meditation to help you cultivate concentration; standing poses that bring stability, balance, and a sense of groundedness to the body; gentle bends and twists to release tension and open pathways for healthy breathing; and plenty of time for relaxation. My teaching is also informed by a study of Somatics—the practice of rediscovering the body's innate wisdom and intelligence to live a life of greater sensitivity and connection to the world.
I've studied Alignment Yoga with Scott Anderson for many years and have a 500-hour certification in Therapeutic Yoga. I also study Vipassana meditation and Dharma with Michael Stone, and am an active member of the Midwestern Soto Zen Community and a founding member of Sandhill Sangha. Outside of the yoga studio, I write short nonfiction, work as a freelance writer and editor, and spend time with my husband and two sons.

Congratulations to Sheryl for her recent Jukai Ceremony!
